With two sons, Mayim Bialik is out-numbered at home. She says ‘feeling left out’ is something she’s ‘not a stranger to.’ The actress, who is also a scientist with a PhD in neuroscience, uses her degree to help her as a parent. (June 18)

Mayim Bialik has a few words for United Airlines. And they aren’t happy ones.

“The Big Bang Theory” actress tweeted Sunday night that a flight attendant shut the boarding gate in her face.

“To the @UnitedAirlines flight attendant who shut the boarding gate in my face,” Bialik wrote. “I made my connecting flight in Houston. it was a tight squeeze but You said there were plenty of open seats. when you saw my carry on suitcase you said there was no room and shut the door in my face.”

She followed up with several additional tweets about her experience.

The mom-of-two said five other passengers were let on the plane while she was left behind. She tweeted she had purchased a first-class seat but would have happily sat in economy class if it meant making her flight.

“And also why couldn’t my little suitcase somehow fit? Maybe the first class seat I was supposed to sit in could have held it and I would have gladly sat in all of the open seats anywhere on that plane.”

On Instagram, she expanded on what happened, saying the experience left her near tears.

“Maybe she hates the [‘Big Bang Theory’],” Bialik wrote of the crew member. “Maybe she was having a bad day. Maybe she hates women who look like they’re going to cry. Now my suitcase is broken from running so hard and aggressively, my asthma is super angry and random people think I’m a prima donna because as she shut the door I said “I have a first class seat!” I didn’t mean I deserve it more, I meant can my suitcase sit in my first class seat and I’ll sit anywhere else? Not a good day for me and @united.”

The star revealed on Instagram in earlier posts that she was in Pittsburgh over the weekend, visiting a Jewish community center. She noted in a separate post she had a layover in Denver on the way there.

Bialik also posted about the experience on her Instagram story. One post features what appears to be a glass of whiskey and says “Hey @united Look what you made me do.” The next post is a selfie, which indicated she had been in touch with the airline. She wrote, “Thank you for being apologetic for the not nice lady @united It means a lot.”

United spokesman Jonathan Guerin told USA TODAY in a statement: “We were able to get Ms. Bialik on the next flight to Los Angeles and we are reviewing what happened with our team in Houston.”

USA TODAY has reached out to Bialik’s reps for comment.
